Key Mapper
sds100Transform the way you interact with your Android device by customizing buttons and gestures for greater convenience and control.
Key Mapper is a powerful application that allows you to remap different types of buttons on your Android device. With it, you can customize the controls according to your needs, offering greater practicality and efficiency. Check out what you can remap:
- Fingerprint gestures (on supported devices).
- Volume buttons.
- Navigation buttons.
- Bluetooth or wired keyboards.
- Buttons for connected devices, such as controllers and other peripherals.
Important: Only hardware buttons can be remapped. There is no guarantee that all buttons will function correctly as your device may have limitations imposed by the manufacturer (OEM). Additionally, Key Mapper is not designed to control games, so features such as video game controls may not be supported.
Key Mapper Features
- Combining keys: You can combine multiple keys from a specific device or any other device to form a “trigger”. Each trigger can trigger several actions, which can be configured to be performed simultaneously or in sequence.
- Varied presses: Keys can be remapped to work with short, long or double presses .
- Custom Constraints: You can configure constraints so that key mapping takes effect only in certain situations.
O that can’t be remapped?Although Key Mapper offers a range of customization options, there are some buttons that cannot be remapped:
- Power button (on/off).
- Bixby button (Samsung devices).
- Mouse buttons.
- Dpad, thumb sticks or game controller triggers.
Application limitations An important limitation of the Key Mapper is that its mappings do not work with the screen off. This is a restriction of Android itself, and there is no way around it.
What can I remap my keys to do? Some actions are only available on rooted devices or versions Android-specific. Key Mapper offers a wide range of features, and for more details on the actions you can configure, access the complete guide here.
Permissions required Although Key Mapper works without need all permissions, the app can request extra authorizations depending on the functionality you want to use. The required permissions are:
- Accessibility Service: Essential for remapping to work. Allows the application to monitor and block key events.
- Device Administrator: Required to turn off the screen when you use the screen off action.
- Modify System Settings: Allows you to change brightness and rotation settings.
- Camera: To control the flashlight.
On some devices, enabling the accessibility service may disable the “improved data encryption”.
